The strip of blue represents the rivers in our area that lead to the River Thames and Parliament while the green symbolises the rolling hills and hangers of Hampshire. The cross of St. George within the sun symbolises that we stand for democracy and that everyone is an equal. The acorn and oak tree reflect the long association the area has had with the army and navy. Oak trees from the area were used to help build the naval ships at the birth of the navy, also a part of The Shipwrights Way is found in the area. As the area is undergoing vast change with the army leaving Bordon the oak tree also symbolises that the area will continue to grow and develop in the future.
